The Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) continued to advance its commitment to Nigeria's energy future through active participation at the 25th Anniversary of the Nigeria Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (NOG Energy Week) in Abuja.

A major highlight was the participation of the NAPE President, Mrs. Olajumoke Cecilia Ajayi, FNAPE, as an strategic seminar speaker, during the strategic panel session titled, "Offshore Frontiers and Local Content, Nurturing Local Capacity to Support Production Growth."

During her presentation, the NAPE President reaffirmed the Association's commitment to serving as a neutral platform that brings together government, operators, service companies, academia, regulators, and other industry stakeholders to develop practical solutions that will enhance investment, strengthen local content, and support long-term production growth.

In line with this commitment, she announced that NAPE will convene a National Capacity Development Workshop on 6 August 2026. The workshop will bring together key industry stakeholders to harmonize existing training initiatives and develop a coordinated national roadmap for workforce development across the petroleum sector.

The President also highlighted NAPE's vision of establishing an industry academy that will leverage the expertise of experienced retired professionals to mentor and transfer critical technical knowledge to the next young generation of geoscientists, engineers, and energy professionals.

Mrs. Ajayi further noted that structured mentorship and industry-focused training will strengthen Nigeria's talent pipeline and improve the nation's capacity to support future exploration and production activities.

NAPE remains committed to promoting capacity development, policy advocacy, and strategic collaboration in support of a resilient, competitive, and sustainable Nigerian energy industry.
